Free Simple Resume Template (Word)

Employers spend seconds on a resume before they decide. Fancy designs with photos and coloured boxes often look messy when they print, and some online systems can't read them at all. This one is plain, tidy and easy to read, which is what actually gets you called.

Each section has a short grey tip telling you what to write. The sample text shows the kind of thing that works, so just replace it with your own details.

What you can do with it

• Make a proper resume in about 30 minutes, even if it's your first one
• List CSEC and CAPE subjects, HEART/NSTA training and other certificates
• Change the profile at the top for each job you apply for
• Save as PDF and send it by email, WhatsApp or online job sites

Good to know

• Delete all the grey tips before you send it.
• Keep it to one page if you have less than 10 years of experience.
• Use numbers where you can ("60+ calls a day" beats "handled calls").
• Use a simple email address with your name in it.
• Opens in Microsoft Word, Google Docs and LibreOffice Writer.
